This course is an important first step in payroll education that covers the basic procedures, processes, and terminology defining the daily workload of the beginning payroll practitioner. It provides a thorough overview of the laws and regulations that affect payroll. Practical experience is also gained through computer-based exercises that allow each participant to work through actual payroll forms and payroll calculations. Each attendee will receive a copy of Payroll Practice Fundamentals.
Each virtual attendee will receive the electronic version of Payroll Practice Fundamentals. Each in-person attendee will receive the printed Payroll Practice Fundamentals.

Foundations of Payroll and the FPC Exam
Virtual course attendees have the opportunity to take the FPC: Fundamental Payroll Certification exam during the regularly scheduled testing window. Schedule early!

For In-Person attendees the Fundamental Payroll Certification (FPC) Exam is offered on Friday after all classes (additional fees apply). Successful candidates use this course as a final review prior to taking the FPC exam. No single source should be considered adequate preparation for this exam.
Advance registration is required. The Foundations of Payroll Certificate Program registration fee does not include the certification exam fee.

Credit Information
Earn up to 29 Recertification Credit Hours (RCHs), 2.9 Continuing Education Units (CEUs), 34.5 Continuing Professional Education (CPE) credits, or 4 ACE college credits. Delivery Method: Group Live or Group Internet-Based. Program Level: Overview. No prerequisites or advance preparation required. Fields of Study: Taxes=24.5, Business Law=6, Communication and Marketing=4
ACE Credits
Attendees that successfully complete this course and score 80% or higher on the post test can earn up to 4 ACE credits.
