Program Overview

Offered virtually and in-person

This course provides intensive training on complex payroll functions and regulations. Attendees explore issues such as how the payroll function impacts the accounting, benefits, and human resources departments, as well as more complicated legal issues like benefits taxation, third-party sick pay reporting, and involuntary deductions. Practical experience is also gained through computer-based exercises that allow each participant to work through actual payroll forms and payroll calculations. The course offers proven practices for managing a cost-effective payroll department and practical experience that can be immediately applied on the job.

Each virtual attendee will receive access to the Payroll Source Online for three months and the Payroll Source Study Guide, 2024 edition. Each in-person attendee will receive The Payroll Source®, 2024 edition.

Payroll Administration Certificate Program and the CPP Exam

Virtual course attendees have the opportunity to take the Certified Payroll Professional (CPP) exam during the regularly scheduled testing window. Schedule early!
View the Spring and Fall exam window dates.

For In-Person attendees the Certified Payroll Professional (CPP) exam is offered on Friday after all classes (additional fees apply). Successful candidates use this course as a final review prior to taking the CPP exam. No single source should be considered adequate preparation for this exam.

Advance registration is required. The Payroll Administration Certificate Program registration fee does not include the certification exam fee.
